ABOUT THE PROJECT:

The GCF Knuckles Project (දුම්බර හරිත සවිබල ගැන්වීමේ ව්‍යාපෘතිය), implemented under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation, is committed to enhancing climate resilience and promoting sustainable land management in the Knuckles region. The project addresses the vulnerability of critical watersheds, rivers, and agricultural communities across the Central, North-Central, and North-Western Provinces, encompassing districts such as Matale, Kandy, Kurunegala, Puttalam, Anuradhapura. Through a collaborative approach involving 46 Divisional Secretariat Divisions and key stakeholders – such as GCF, ICRAF, IUCN, and numerous government and private organizations – the project aims to improve land and water management practices, establish innovative financing mechanisms, and strengthen institutional capacities for long-term sustainability.

Organizing meetings & Functions : You shall be responsible with organizing and recording meetings and functions between project stakeholders and project consultants.

Attend to Field Activities : You shall be responsible for managing field visits, including arranging, coordinating and cooperating with stakeholders, and fostering teamwork for effective project execution.

Office Administration & Finance  : You shall be responsible for following HR, finance and administrative rules and regulations, adhering to the Code of Conduct and ethics, attending to and effectively delivering tasks requested by the management, drafting and typing letters and proficiently handling office documents.

Report Preparation : Preparation of financial and physical progress presentations and reports in support of consultants and other senior officials.

Assisting Project Managers : As Trainee Supportive Executive Officer, you shall be assigned to Consultants, Project Managers, PD and other senior staff of the project.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Basic Academic Qualification:

  • G.C.E. (A/L) with at least three subjects in any category.

 

Additional Qualification of Advantages:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree
  • Professional Qualification or Diplomas

Other Important Skills:

  • Proficiency in computer literacy.
  • Good public relation skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Familiarity and relationships within the relevant Project area.
  • Experience in project-related fields.
  • Language English/Tamil/Sinhala.

Mandatory Expectations:

  • Should be able to work in Colombo or either Theldeniya in Kandy District, Laggala or Naula in the Matale District, depending on your location and the project requirements.
  • Initial Service Period: 3 months assignment basis. (extendable based on performance)

Work Hours

Expected to be available outside the regular office hours of Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Assisting them to implement project activities and report on achievement deliverables.
