• Special tasks were carried out in addition to directing and guiding the deputy directors under the sub-department.
• Establishment of Land Unit; guiding & training the field staff on the protection of irrigation reservations.
• Obtained funds under a new block vote under the national budget for the rehabilitation of existing irrigation schemes.
• Facilitation of the collaborative activities required in relation to Dam Safety and Assets Management in liaison with relevant branches inside the Department and outside institutions to maximize the benefits of the Dam Safety & Water Resources Planning Project.
• Revision of existing circulars, standing orders, and manuals on dam safety and emergency management, as well as formulation of new safety standards.
• As the Secretary of the Sri Lanka National Committee of Large Dams of the International Committee of Large Dams, represent Sri Lanka at the ICOLD annual meetings, and liaise between the Sri Lankan committee, parent organization and the other national committees.
